A follower of mine on Instagram, Patrick Lyall contacted me a couple of months ago asking if I would consider doing him some street headshots.
He was happy for me to photograph him in London, or shoot on his home turf of Cambridge. I plumped for Cambridge (would've been rude not to, right?).
Not knowing this area particularly well, I wasn't in my usual position of scouting a few locations beforehand. I left it entirely up to Patrick on the day.
As it happened, I needn't have worried. Patrick had already thought of a few locations. Never thought I’d be shooting someone with their cello in a field full of cows during golden hour.
I also got to tick punting-on-the-River-Cam off my bucket list too. By that, I mean Patrick did all the hard work steering the punt, whilst I got to sit back, relax and keep snapping. Tis a hard life, eh.
